FIREWOOD: There's still some winter left, and we have plenty
of wood. We sell split, seasoned hardwood, now at a discounted price. It's $280 a cord, and we
deliver free within 15 miles of the farm. Call Eli at 978-257-3003 or
e-mail eli.adelman@gmail.com
VOLUNTEERS: Each
year AFW contacts all local volunteers to help with the harvest. If you
are interested in getting your hands dirty and lending a hand to bring
in the grapes, please e-mail us and we will add you to our volunteer
e-mail list. We always have a lot of fun, the winery provides each
volunteer with a T-shirt, harvest luncheon and payment in wine for your
services. We have opportunities all year long for groups of all ages to
help with bottling, racking, labeling, harvesting and drinking! CALL if
you would like to harvest fall 2009. 978-774-0014.
CLASSES:
North Shore Community College is offering a number
of classes at the winery, including Vineyard Management, Wine
Appreciation, Feng Shui and several dance classes, including belly
dancing. To find out more or to register, go to
www.northshore.edu and select "Alfalfa Farm"
under Non-Credit Subjects.
DONATIONS: Due to the large number of
requests we get for fundraising donations, we can't contribute to all of
them. We can, however, offer to host fundraising wine tastings at the winery
for local not-for-profit events at a discounted nonprofit rate. This
option allows you to help support local agriculture while funding your
charity. Please
e-mail us
for more information.
EMPLOYMENT:
Alfalfa Farm Winery is
looking for students and interns interested in learning about the wine
industry and "agritourism." We have immediate openings for production
and event staff.
